継続的・計画的な取り組みにより、第二次世界大戦直後は推定80％以上にもおよんだ漏水率が、現在では2.65％（2011年度）まで低下しており、日本国内でもトップクラスの漏水率を維持しています。

Continuous and periodical works followed helped to reduce the leakage rate, which had been assumed as high as 80% or more immediately after the war, is now 2.65% (as of 2011), keeping one of the lowest rates throughout Japan.
